As a Farm Worker (General), your day-to-day work will be physically demanding and diverse, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach. In terms of crop production, you will be involved in preparing the soil for planting, seeding, monitoring crop health, applying fertilizers or pesticides under supervision, and participating in the crucial tasks of harvesting. This includes manual labour such as picking, sorting, and packing produce, as well as operating or assisting with farm machinery like tractors and harvesters. You will also play a role in setting up, maintaining, and monitoring irrigation systems to ensure optimal water supply for our fields.

For livestock care, your responsibilities will include regular feeding and watering of animals (which may include cattle, poultry, or other farm animals), ensuring their health and well-being, and assisting with breeding and vaccination programs. A significant part of your duties will be to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the livestock, including mucking out stables, barns, and pens. Attention to detail is crucial here for both animal health and biosecurity.

Beyond crop and livestock tasks, you will be responsible for general farm maintenance. This involves performing routine and preventative maintenance on farm equipment and machinery, such as cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs. You will also assist with the maintenance and repair of farm infrastructure, including fences, gates, and outbuildings, to ensure the farm remains functional and safe. Adherence to safety regulations in all aspects of work, especially when operating machinery or handling chemicals, is mandatory.
