Nexus Global Logistics is seeking skilled and reliable Forklift Operators to become a core part of our warehouse operations team in the West Midlands, UNITED KINGDOM. As a Forklift Operator, your primary role will be to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement and storage of goods within our busy distribution centre. We handle a variety of products, so your ability to manage diverse loads with precision is key.

You will be responsible for operating a counterbalance and/or reach forklift, adhering strictly to all company safety protocols and national health and safety regulations. A successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of safety consciousness, excellent spatial awareness, and a commitment to maintaining an orderly and hazard-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Your daily tasks will be diverse, focusing on the core logistical functions of the warehouse. You will:

• Load and Unload Materials: Efficiently and safely unload incoming vehicles and load outgoing delivery trucks using the forklift.
• Stock Movement and Storage: Transport palletised materials to designated storage locations and retrieve stock for shipment, ensuring correct stacking and placement.
• Equipment Maintenance and Checks: Conduct thorough pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections of the forklift and associated equipment, reporting any defects immediately.
• Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate records of inventory locations and movements, often using handheld scanners or computer systems.
• Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to all Health and Safety procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining pedestrian safety.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse and inventory control teams to meet daily operational targets and deadlines.

Candidate Profile:

We are targeting lower-level or some experienced candidates who are eager to commit to a long-term role. The ideal candidate will have:

• A valid Forklift Operator Certification recognised in the United Kingdom (e.g., RTITB or ITSSAR accreditation) for Counterbalance and/or Reach Trucks.
• Proven experience of at least one year in a similar warehouse or logistics environment.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills (e.g., 8th pass or equivalent basic literacy) to handle documentation and inventory records.
• A strong, demonstrable commitment to workplace safety and following detailed instructions.
• Physical fitness required for the role, including the ability to manually handle loads occasionally and work flexible shifts.
