Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agricultural Specialist to join our team in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on agricultural practices, crop management, and livestock production to farmers, growers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical advice and support to farmers and growers on best practices in crop management, soil science, and livestock production
• Conduct on-farm visits to assess agricultural operations and provide recommendations for improvement
• Develop and implement crop management plans, including crop rotation, fertilization, and pest management strategies
• Collaborate with farmers, growers, and other stakeholders to identify and address agricultural challenges and opportunities
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in agricultural science and technology
• Develop and deliver training programs and workshops for farmers, growers, and other stakeholders on agricultural best practices
• Collect and analyze data on agricultural production, yields, and market trends to inform decision-making

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural consulting, research, or extension
• Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, crop management, and livestock production in New Zealand
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively throughout New Zealand

Working Conditions:

• The role will be based in a rural or regional location in New Zealand
• The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent travel and outdoor work
• The role may involve working in a variety of weather conditions and on uneven terrain
